FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE?

You should arrive at Ballstar YYC 10-15 minutes before your booked session time.

  • Failure to arrive at the scheduled time or cancellation of registration will result in forfeiture of registration fee!


How Many People Can Play In A Session?

For the most optimal play experience, we recommend a maximum of 6 players per cage.


How Long Is a Session?

Each booked session includes 50 minutes of active playtime.


What is the Minimum Age Requirement?

For a more favorable play experience, we recommend that players be aged 8 and above.


How Do You Sign In?

When you arrive at our facility, our staff will help set you up with your very own BALLSTAR YYC account. If you already have an account, our staff will help log you in.

 

What kind of clothing should I wear?

It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Players must wear closed-toed, flat footwear to comply with the safety standards of the equipment.


How Do I Book A Session?

Choose a date and then register the amount of players you'll be booking the session for!

PLAYER REGISTRATION

 

All players must register and login to an account to participate in the game. It is free to create the account through our website or at our tablets located at each batting cage. The purpose of the account is to sign up for sessions, to get assigned a cage, and to keep track of your ranking in the games.


EXPLANATIONS

Our staff members will provide explanations of safety rules and demonstrations of the equipment. The staff will also explain all the game modes as you are introduced to the cage.

PERSONAL INFO

We may collect personal information during the sign-up process through the use of the website. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it under all/any circumstances.


INJURIES

If you are injured while on the premises, please seek immediate assistance from a Ballstar YYC staff member.


CODE OF CONDUCT

We strive to uphold a safe, fun, and family-oriented environment. As such, we expect proper respectful conduct on the premises at all times.  We will not tolerate disrespectful conduct towards our patrons, employees, or property. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in expulsion from the premises.


SALES AND REFUNDS

  • No refunds! All sales are final.

  • Failure to arrive for the scheduled time or cancellation of registration will result in forfeiture of the registration fee.

  • Re-scheduling is allowed with a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to the day and time of the booking.

  • Private bookings are subject to a ‘no-show’ fee of $200.

  • All prices are listed in Canadian dollars plus applicable tax.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations are allowed with a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to the day and time of the booking.


SPORT EQUIPMENT

Sport equipment such as baseball bats, lacrosse sticks, tennis rackets, and cricket bats are provided inside the cages during your session. You are welcome to bring in your own equipment.

DO YOU HAVE A SLOW PITCH?

You could select a lower speed for pitching, but it’s not exactly slow pitch but similar.  There is 4 levels to choose from, level 1 slowest to level 4 fastest. Each level will have set speeds and will pitch according to individual settings.

WHAT BALLS DO YOU USE FOR PITCHING?

We use a hard rubber dimple ball that are similar size to a baseball. It’s lighter than a baseball and we use the same ball for all 4 sports.


GAME TIME

All standard public and private bookings are 50 minutes long. 
We recommend that players arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to their session for the check-in process. Players are expected to wait in the seating area.


THEFT

Ballstar YYC is not responsible for personal belongings left unattended on our premises. We are not liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.


IN-GAME ASSISTANCE

During the sporting experience,  our Ballstar YYC staff is there to assist players with any technical issues or safety concerns.
 

SUBSTANCE USE

No drug use. Smoking is allowed only at the designated area outside the facility.


SAFETY

For your own safety, only one player is allowed in the cage at a time.


OPERATING HOURS

Opening & closing times may vary - please check our online booking system for more accurate information before visiting. We accept bookings all days of the week.
